DESCRIPTION:Everyone has a role to play in an emergency. EP Week is an opportunity for you to take action to ensure you are prepared to protect yourself\, your family and your community during an emergency. This year\, the theme is Be Prepared. Know Your Risks. The intent of the theme is to encourage Canadians to understand the risks in their area and learn what actions they can take to protect themselves and their families. \nGet Involved!\nThis year\, participate in our challenge to win an emergency kit on our social media channels. \nSimply tell us how you’re helping to make you and your family better prepared to cope during an emergency\, and use the hashtag #ReadyforAnything. \nIt can be as simple as making an emergency kit with items found around your home\, creating a family emergency plan\, or becoming more informed about the hazards in your area. DESCRIPTION:A day to meet local emergency management bodies and first responders and build resilience around outdoor safety and emergency preparedness. \nThe North Vancouver School District is proud to host the 2nd Outdoor Safety & Emergency Preparedness Open House on Saturday\, May 13\, 2023 at Argyle Secondary School. \nJoin us for a family-friendly community event that showcases the expertise of local emergency management bodies and first responders and aims to build your awareness and resilience around outdoor safety and emergency preparedness. \nThe event consists of an outdoor trade show and workshops hosted by participating organizations. Speak with the experts and get up close to emergency vehicles used in real-life rescues. \nThis FREE event also includes a complimentary bike valet service and a variety of food truck options where you can purchase food and refreshments. \nPlease note\, you do not need to register for this event to attend\, it is a free community open house. By signing up\, you will receive an email reminder in the days preceding May 13.
