Jyotpreet Kaur

Director

I hold a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Business Administration from Thompson Rivers University, a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business and Operations from Indira Gandhi National Open University, an M.Tech in Infrastructure Engineering & Management from the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology, and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Bharti Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering. My career includes leadership as Director of Capital Projects and Asset Management, where I have overseen complex, high-value projects from planning to completion—ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This experience equips me to contribute to the board’s strategic planning, governance, and goal-setting initiatives.

I bring proven expertise in stakeholder engagement, having worked closely with Indigenous communities and other partners to ensure projects align with local needs, cultural values, and sustainability priorities. My collaborative approach strengthens relationships and fosters trust, which is essential for advancing community awareness and preparedness for natural disasters. In addition, my background in financial oversight, grant writing, and fundraising will support the board’s efforts to secure resources and grow its capacity.

As an active advocate and ambassador in my current role, I am adept at enhancing public image, building networks, and mobilizing collective action to achieve shared objectives. I am deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that solutions respect and incorporate diverse perspectives. I look forward to contributing my blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and community engagement skills to help the BC Earthquake Alliance Society advance its mission of promoting earthquake and tsunami awareness, preparedness, and education across British Columbia.
